SNOW DAY!! YAY!
Or not yay? hmmmm..... Well it's yay when instead of getting up at 6:50 AM to start getting kids out the door on a cold gray winter morning, I get to give everyone the good news and we all stay in bed until 9:00. It's yay when I get to make pancakes and chocolate chip muffins for breakfast instead of the usual frozen waffles or toast. It's yay when the whole family is sitting in the living room talking about their dreams the night before, throwing the ball for Oliver(our tireless border collie), and solving silly riddles Alex looks up for us. It's always a yay when I don't get out of my jammies until 1:00. It's a yay when Rob and I get to snuggle on the couch and watch out the window as our kids play(nicely) together in the snow. It's a yay when Dad plays video games with Ethan. It's a yay when we get to eat pizza for dinner.
As I sit on my bed listening to the freezing rain tap on the roof I reflect on the day, and I'm tempted to feel guilty that I accomplished absolutely nothing today. No cleaning, no laundry, no nothing. A whole day went by and I didn't do anything worth while. Or did I?

In the end I know that whether the cleaning or laundry got done or the bills got paid today will be forgotten. But the memories of one snow day will be with all of us in our memories forever. Hope you all had a great snow day too. Maybe we'll get to do it all again tomorrow. But maybe I'll try and get some stuff done. :D
